François-Xavier Orsini: Porte-à-Faux

François-Xavier Orsini's work is serial and open: encompassing drawing, sculpture, photography, and more. It's characterized by a refusal of specialization and a constant need to explore new avenues.

With "PAF# Porte-à-faux," Orsini creates volumes/models out of cardboard in an aesthetic, once again borrowed from design and architecture. The volumes thus created are then covered with sketched sheets of Canson paper, on which Orsini creates shadow and light, aiming to give a vibrant, human texture to geometric volumes often considered "cold."

The result gives rise to a photograph taken and digitally printed on neutral paper. The viewer is confronted with an in-between, photo/drawing, and finds themselves in a cantilevered position in relation to the observed object in imbalance.
